To make fig molasses, the Rao family cook down fresh, local figs in copper kettles, reducing them to less than half their original volume. The fruit is separated from the syrup leaving a thick, sweet molasses.

Drizzle it onto yogurt, top pancakes, stir into oatmeal. It's particularly delicious paired with grilled meats, like pork or flank steak.
